PORT CHARGES

The Schedule of Harbour and Railway rate, which is available for sale at Accounts and Traffic departments, gives the details of the charges of services rendered by the port.

Worked examples of some vessels with different types of the major commodities handled at this port are provided to give a rough idea to the port users as to the charges payable to the port for handling their cargo. Besides, the labour charges are shown. However the other costs of transhippers, stevedores and handling agents are not shown.

Information provided in this section is meant for rough and ready guidance for the port users. For more details, users are advised to refer to the Schedule of Rates and also consult their stevedores, ship agents etc.

The Port Charges, viz. Vessel related charges and Cargo related charges are generally revised once in three years.

NOTES :

A. Port Dues on all Coastal vessels  (other than tankers) shall be levid at 50% of the above rates.
B. Port Dues on foreign vessels  shall be levied at 70% of above rates in the following cases:
i) Vessels engaged in loading and unloading parcles of general cargo of the order of not more than 3000 tonnes.
ii) Vessels calling at the Port exclusively for lightering general cargo into other vessels for being carried to any other port in the country.

iii) Lash, container and RO-RO vessels.
